San Diego City College’s Digital Journalism program recently received awards for the publications City Times and Legend magazine from the American Scholastic Press Association and the Journalism Association of Community Colleges state conference.

The Radio/Television/Film program’s “Newscene” broadcast also received honors from the Journalism Association of Community Colleges state conference

Announced April 20, both City Times and the summer-fall 2014 edition of Legend magazine received first place in a nationwide contest from the American Scholastic Press Association. City Times received first place with special merit in the newspaper category and Legend Magazine received first place for the magazine category.

City Times and “Newscene” also acquired awards during the Journalism Association of Community Colleges state conference April 9-11. City Times received Online General Excellence while “Newscene” received first place in the state for broadcast news.
