The San Diego Community College District and UC San Diego’s Division of Arts and Humanities will bring the second annual conference on Reclaiming the Humanities to the San Diego City College campus. 

The event will take place on today, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in MS-162.

This conference is also affiliated with the Preparing Accomplished Transfers in the Humanities program, also known as PATH. 

With the support of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, PATH is able to create events such as this conference. It enable students the opportunity to explore the benefits that Arts and Humanities can provide. 

Guest speakers include James McBride, author of several books, including his best known book “The Color of Water.” Also speaking at the event is UCSD professor of Public Culture and Urbanism, Teddy Cruz and the founding director of Center on Global Justice at UCSD, Fonna Forman. 

The conference will also provide an interactive atmosphere for students as well as faculties to connect in the Arts and Humanities field.

The space is free to the community and students to attend.
