Students can expect most on-campus services to be available to them over the summer 2019 session with some schedule modifications.

The main eight-week summer term begins on June 17 with other shorter session classes starting on June 3.

Parking prices will stay the same, according to the parking office.

Students using public transit can buy a Compass Card for $57.60/ month with a minimum of seven units.

Not all students find  that load to be manageable.

“I understand seven units being a requirement throughout the full 16 weeks terms, but during an 8 week course, it’s not doable when you have a lot to juggle,” said Luz Monique Murua, a City College nursing student.

“(The cost) should be cut in half, or at least the $57.60 throughout the (entire) summer. This affects my transportation to school and so I won’t be taking summer classes this year.”

For students taking face-to-face classes, Moody’s food truck will be on campus Mondays through Thursdays between 8 a.m. and 1 or 2 p.m. The other food trucks will not be available. The MS Cafe will be open for business with similar hours to Moody’s.

The cafeteria will remain closed.

The Food Pantry located in the BT building will be closing three hours earlier over summer. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Thursday and closed on Fridays.

With the main bookstore closed for relocation, the only bookstore open for the summer will be on the first floor of the MS Building across from the MS Cafe.

With the opening of the A building earlier this semester, student services there will operate out of their permanent offices throughout the summer term.
