Campus gears up for ‘Zombie Prom’

A new semester began at San Diego City College which means that a new musical is in the works.

In this semester’s musical, zombies will dance in “Zombie Prom.”

According to City College’s website, auditions were held at 6:00 p.m. on Aug. 26-27 in the Saville Theatre.

“We are holding auditions tomorrow evening, Monday, Wed (sic) and Thursday of next week, to allow any students interested in participating to contact us,” Richards said in an email response.

Richards also shared in her emailed reply that “Zombie Prom” is an off-Broadway production and that students who participate are enrolled in a class that serves as a part of the production.

“Zombie Prom” was made into a movie in 2006, which can be watched on YouTube.

According to the description the production is “… a campy, rollicking, romp through America’s ‘Atomic Age’ and the ‘Golden Age’ of horror comic books.”
